520			_aThe main activities carried out by the Institute in Guyana during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening pest control issues, such as the carambola fly, technology transfer, associated with climate-smart agriculture and climate resilience. Likewise, it contributed to the development of biotechnology standards, biosafety, policies, as well as support in health and food safety and the improvement of agricultural and livestock production systems. Finally, work was done to promote sustainable agrotourism, in the economic development and competitiveness of small agricultural companies, as well as in the development of rural territories.
520			_aSe identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Guyana durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo en temas de control de plagas, como la mosca de la carambola, transferencia tecnológica, asociada a la agricultura climáticamente inteligente y a la resiliencia climática. Asimismo, se contribuyo en el desarrollo de estándares de biotecnología, bioseguridad, políticas, así como apoyo en sanidad e inocuidad alimenticia, y el mejoramiento de los sistemas de producción agrícola y ganadera. Finalmente, se trabajo en impulsar el agroturismo sostenible, en el desarrollo económico y competitividad de las pequeñas empresas agrícolas, así como en el desarrollo de los territorios rurales.
