| 520 | _aLa hipótesis central del estudio, es el reconocimiento explícito de la heterogeneidad del sector rural de la sociedad, basada en su diferenciación social, económica, demográfica y geográfica. Esta perspectiva diferenciada de la estrategia del desarrollo, debería reemplazar las alternativas que toman la población rural como similar, con una misma estrategia de desarrollo para todos ellos. Se propone una nueva fórmula para el desarrollo rural, con el fin de que se constituya en un componente clave de la estrategia para recuperar el desarrollo de las economías latinoamericanas, y sirva simultáneamente, para reducir la pobreza rural. El documento se divide en los siguientes capítulos: (1) impacto económico de la crisis en la agricultura; (2) política económica del desarrollo rural, (4) estructura y dinámica de la pobreza rural; (5) importancia económica de los campesinos; (6) economía de las inversiones en el desarrollo rural; (7) esbozo de una estrategia de desarrollo rural, (8) desarrollo rural orientado a la finca, en apéndice: reforma agraria y colonización; (9) desarrollo rural orientado a fincas subfamiliares; y (10) efectos de enlace, actividades no agrícolas y creación de empleo.
