The main species cultivated are Dioscorea alata, D. rotundata cayenensis complex, and D. trifida. Continuously, it refers to some common problems experience by farmers relate to: shortages of planting material; borers; and nematodes. Finally, two tables (coming from Dominica Trade Statistics) with the production of yam (1984-1987), and recorded yam exports are presented
