520 _aEsta nota tiene como objetivo dar a conocer los principales temas que se discutieron durante la Septuagésima Sexta Reunión Ordinaria del Comité de Agricultura de la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC), en la cual el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) participó como Miembro Observador. A su vez, en este boletín se pretende dar a conocer un resumen de las reuniones y actividades que se desarrollaron durante el año 2014 en este Comité. Los temas que se discuten en las reuniones del Comité de Agricultura de la OMC están relacionados con los compromisos que los Estados Miembros han adquirido, y que se enmarcan dentro del Acuerdo sobre Agricultura de la OMC. En este Acuerdo, los países deben notificar en cinco ámbitos en particular, los cuales se detallan a continuación, y las obligaciones de notificación aplicables a cada Miembro son diferentes, ya que depende en gran medida de los compromisos específicos que haya asumido el país en virtud del Acuerdo.
520 _aThe purpose of this technical note is to report on the main topics discussed at the Seventy Sixth Regular Meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Committee on Agriculture in which the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) participated as an Observer Member. This document also provides an overview of the meetings and activities of this Committee that took place during 2014. Matters discussed at meetings of the Committee on Agriculture are relevant to the commitments made by Member States, and which fall within the WTO Agreement on Agriculture. In this Agreement, countries must report on five specific areas, detailed below, and the reporting obligations applicable to each Member are different, as this is largely dependent on the specific commitments the Member country has made under the Agreement.
